I have been going to college now for four years. I’ve applied six times to different majors, and I haven’t gotten in. So I am left with no major, and not sure what to do. My university has this policy of you have to pick a major by 60.0 credits, and you can’t switch it. I’m over that limit, and I still don’t have an actual major. I have considered transferring to another university, or just dropping out of school. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on I could do from here?
There is obviously more to the story than this. What type of university are you at. Why are you rejected from majors, etc. Do you want advice that is helpful? If so, provide enough information so people can provide decent advice.
Can you talk to your advisor, a favorite professor or the dean of students about this?
They may have a way to “design your own major” and use most of what you have done.
I say instead of transferring take a gap year. Then look at the classes you have already taken and see what major they seem to fill in the requirements for. Or look at your options for majors and pick something that is really general in the field you have the greatest strengths. Like general engineering, general studies, liberal arts, general business, ect.
