Changing Majors

Hi,

I’m a second semester Freshman and I’m thinking about changing my major.
Currently, I’m in computer technology. I took this because I thought I loved working with computers
coding and building websites but I was wrong. I was encouraged to go fourth with it and I stuck too it until I couldn’t take it anymore.

Now, I’m thinking about changing my major (this isn’t the first time I thought about it.)
I thought about changing it nearing the end of my first semester but I brushed it off. I’m thinking about changing it too: Associates of Arts degree which are general education classes. I wasn’t sure if that was the right degree for me. But, now that I know more it is. I’m really mad about it.
I want to transfer out of my community college in a timely matter. But I don’t think that will happen.
I checked out the colleges that I want to transfer to and only a couple of my classes would transfer over.
If I were to stay in the computer science major which I don’t want too; Than most of my classes would transfer over.
The reason why I’m changing my major is because it’s getting going to get to complicated for me for the Summer semester. I’m not doing too well now. My GPA is a 2.2. I needed it to be higher from my first semester and I was hoping it was going to be a 3.0. But it wasn’t.

So, I’m wondering is it a good idea to change my major after the Spring semester ends?
Because I don’t want to be in the Summer semester saying the same thing over again.

I know I want to major in animation and minor in music but my community college didn’t have either of those majors too choose from. It’s limited.

What should I do? Any advice? Any tips? Stories about changing majors and getting a higher GPA?

Thanks.

If you’re miserable, then don’t stick with it. Switching majors and having to stay another semester or two is much better than attempting to transfer with a degree you didn’t even want and a low GPA to go with it.
For an A.A. degree, you generally complete your general education requirements and then a good portion of electives.
It seems odd that only a couple of your credits would transfer out of a whole degree’s worth of classes, I would double check on that.
