What do you think I should major in? I was doing engineering, but I dont like it. When I say major in I mean in terms of money and stuff...I was thinking finance/econ for ibank but the series 7 bars me I think... Advice please!

I’m not an expert in this area, but I have seen job applications in the finance area asking:
“have you ever been bonded?”
I suspect this requirement for being insured is common for these types of jobs, and your felonies may be an obstacle. Check with someone familiar with placement in the area you’re interested in to see if this is a show stopper.

Law Enforcement.

I think that in some states, employers are legally required to ask on any job application if you’ve been convicted of a felony…That will make it pretty challenging for you to get a job.

Depends on the felonies, when they happened, were you convicted, etc., etc, etc., and what you have done to rehabilitate, blah, blah ,blah.

The felonies won’t bar you from licensing or bonding unless you lie about them and get caught.

Tell the truth and be prepared to explain yourself and how you have changed for the better. If it’s a government clearance, you may get interviewed by some secret squirrel. (Been there, but for my travels. I’m no felon) If it’s a high clearance you may need to work on clearing you record if you can. (I have friends who have been there).

Lying on any application is probably worse than being a felon.

Do not lie. If you get caught, that negatively effects any future application you may make. If you tell the truth, all they can do is say no.

Do not lie.
