i have a 79 average in an AP class, senior year. any hope for ivy admission? =/

this is a total serious concern. right now, i have a 78-79 average for a marking period for one of my AP classes -- am i totally screwed for ivy admissions? ;aslkdjfasldkf

my other stats:
1) Basics:
Ethnicity: Asian
Sex: Female
Location: NJ
non-competitive public school (or at least i think ... ~7 people got into lower tier ivies this year, but this is unusually large)
school doesn't rank, but top 5% (smallest percentage my school goes to)

2) GPA/courseload:
~4.41 weighted GPA // unweighted .. not sure. I'll have all A's/A+'s except for two B+'s at the end of this year
- hardest courseload possible: AP Psych, AP Chem, AP Lang & Comp; rest are honors
- APs: 5 on Psych & Chem
- Senior Courseload: 5 APs: french, calc, lit, USH, bio

3) Test Scores
800 Math Level II / 700 on Bio / 780 on Chem
2300 SAT
35 ACT

4) Extracurriculars
-cofounder/pres of a human rights club. (10, 11, 12) -- our first year, took a lot of effort to start, but raised several hundred dollars and planned 2 successful schoolwide events so far.

-captain of Science League (9,10,11,12)
-President of Chemistry Olympics (10,11,12)

(... the rest are insignificant clubs that i won't put down.)

inventing is also a passionate hobby of mine, started when i was very young. have won multiple awards ... see below.

my other senior grades aren't good. i have two other B's and it's honestly just because my workload is overwhelming. but honestly how worried should i be right now?

i'm applying to some of the ivies and top tier schools .. including yale, harvard, brown, georgetown, uchicago, etc.

oh, and i have another quarter to bring up my average – i know i’ll be able to to at least a B, but colleges will see both numbers :/

****ters, I have the same problem. The first quarter marks is worth about 30% of our overall grade because our school weighs final exams really heavily.

A B won’t kill you. With your solid stats, I’d think you’d make it into at least two Ivy’s if you apply to all. If you are going fro Princeton, I think you shot is good  most kids who get into Princeton are from NJ.

I know how you feel. Sometimes the stress of getting into schools we want can make us (asians) become perfectionists :/

For now, there isn’t much u can control! Just worry about the things u have control left, aka College App essays

You seriously need to calm down. Inhale…exhale. Have you looked at your list? have you really taken a good look at your list? My brother had a 3.5 w 2100 on his sats. Pretty good community service and he got into Uofchicago. You seem very qualified so just calm down.

Apply early–no grades on transcript. :-)

depends on which course. If it’s in AP Calc BC, you’ve still got a very good shot at the Ivies because tons of seniors across the country who go Ivy fail that course (at least according to Michele Hernandez circa 1997.) Other courses may not be as generous, though
