I have a list of colleges I am applying to chances/suggestions

Hi guys here are a list of colleges I am applying to. I am applying to a lot because I know many will be denials, but I figured it's like a lottery chance, and I have fee waivers. I am first generation college student and from a low income bracket.

My guidance counselor is going to write my a supplement recommendation explaining what happened freshmen year (if you want to know look at another thread). The only thing I don't want is for this to play out like a sympathy story. I am going to write one of my essays on it, about the whole experience and growing and learning from it.

Senior Class Schedule- AP calculus, honors trig, AP English, Italian 4 (local college course level), Physics Honors, Writing (college course through high school),sociology honors. I am taking the maximum amount of AP we offer.
Junior year schedule I had seven honors classes, no electives!
Summer of Junior year I won a governors board scholarship to take a college course (western civ) at a local college. I really wanted to do one of those programs at brown but my parents couldn't afford it
Sophomore year-most honors
freshmen-all honors-failed though with completion of S.S.

Freshmen GPA-66
sophomore Gpa-96, 4.00
junior- should be 93 or 94, but considering my class load for 7 core classes it is pretty good.
senior year- will be 95!

If I were to disregard freshmen year by GPA would be a straight 4.00 so I will make my guidance counselor point that out in my recommendation letter.

I have 2 back up local colleges, however I am really looking to go out of state so anywhere in New England, states such as NY, Pennsylvania and some in Midwest of south are fine. Does anyone know if any back up schools or any other schools that are good but not ivy league selective that I could possibly have a good chance with?

Majors considering-biology, pre med, or history, pre law. Every college pretty much has that.

On a last note I don't think my credentials are strong enough for ED or EA, I need the additional time senior year probably for that additional semester, but what are your opinions, and if so what schools would be best for that?

Thanks.

OK, right now your ACT is vastly better than your SAT. Consider retaking the ACT instead of the SAT and subject tests. Your scores, etc look pretty good, just know that HYP is really a reach for everyone, and your ACT score is a little low for those to be considered match schools. If you want to be in Boston, look into Northeastern University or Suffolk, which has a great law program and has something like an 80% acceptance rate. For bio/med, take a look at Johns Hopkins, the program there is excellent. Remember that it costs about $60 for each school you apply to, so that adds up quickly.

yeah i am not counting on any ivies at all, i actually might remove some actually, I think im going to get rid of dartmouth and possibly yale or princeton, maybe upenn too.

If you dont think you really have a chance, just choose one instead of paying for what you know is probably a rejection. For most of the schools on your list, you should be over 2000 SAT or 32 ACT, but a 31 is pretty close. You have an excellent shot at UConn, UMass, and UVM. Take a look at George Washington University also. Its in downtown DC and easier to get into than Georgetown, which is very selective.

how is early action? should I do early action for any of those schools? I feel that my application wont be strong enough for that though. I know they have higher yields for early action, but I think I may want my first semester of senior year to go in.
