So I went to a CSU, and I was put on Academic Probation due to family problems back home and I missed a lot of school, but I made up all those classes with A's and I now have a 3.75 GPA.

I also applied for reinstatement to the CSU for transfer purposes, and I was approved.

On the UC Application it asks if I was ever on academic probation, but it doesn't ask if I'm still on academic probation.

Do I click yes or no???

Do I write that I was approved for reinstatement and no longer on academic probation???

Also I took 2 years of French in high school, how do I add that as foreign language credit onto the UC Application???

please answer thank you!

If it asks if you were ever on academic probation and you were at some point, just say yes. It shouldn’t be a big deal since you have a good GPA, just explain it in the “additional comments” section. I’m not going to harp on how important it is to be honest because I’m sure you already know that. You will be fine though.

By the way, make sure to talk about what you have learned from the issues you faced, and why it has made you a better student and person.

Do you know where I add the 2 years of foreign language I took in high school???

I don’t see an option for that.

According to other threads on this site, you just check that you fulfilled IGETC and they will know you did part of it in high school. Although don’t take my word for it because I don’t know first hand. I think it’s worth starting a separate thread to ask that.

Just to confirm what music1990 said, all you need to do is check that you completed IGETC. Your community college will handle everything that has to do with IGETC and since the two years of foreign language is an IGETC requirement not a UC admission requirement it’s handled by your CC. All the UC’s do is check to make sure your CC has certified you as having completed IGETC, which doesn’t happen until you send in your transcripts. For IGETC, you’re going to have to send your high school transcripts into your CC and then you have to request an IGETC certified form sent to the UC you SIR to when you also request your official transcripts.

Also, another question:

If your PLANNED courses for future Winter 2014/Spring 2014 semester might change, what do you do?

Right now I have Biology planned, but I might change it to Sociology…

Then you update it when the UCs send in the update request in January.

As mentioned above, you’ll update your application in January at which point you’re more likely to know what your winter and spring schedule is likely to be. Additionally, the UC application is open to be updated even following the January update deadline (which I believe is January 31st); however, they only guarantee to take into consideration your update prior to the deadline. So you can continue to update your application in February/March, but they don’t guarantee to look at that version, although there’s usually a strong likelihood that they will.

Generally, as long as you don’t drop any prerequisites or any of the critical requirements you’ll be fine. If you do something like switch classes that fulfill the same IGETC category or drop a class that isn’t a major/IGETC requirement, you shouldn’t be in any danger. That being said, it’s always best to contact the UC admission departments if you have to make a schedule change after the January update. It’s much better for them to know in advance as opposed to finding out after they’ve accepted you and see a discrepancy in your official transcripts.

Okay thanks guys.

Last question:

I realized on my UC TAG Application that I wrote my Summer course started from 06/2013 to 07/2013 and that’s really went class ended, July 28th.

But on the transcript it said 06/2013-08/2013 for the class.

Would this be a problem??? I wrote 06/2013-08/2013 for the UC TAP Application.

But on UC TAG which I already submitted last month I wrote 06/2013-07/2013

I’m a little bit confused by your question, but if basically you were just a month off on one of the parts of the application, I seriously doubt that will be a problem at all. You could try calling and see if it can be corrected, otherwise I wouldn’t even worry about it. It won’t even get a second glance, in my opinion.

@music1990

Yeah that’s exactly what I was asking.

If they won’t care that I was off by 1 month then it’s fine it’s whatever :)
