I can’t post it publicly bc it would out the professor. But I have been working with a Harvard professor in his group and he offered to write a letter to admissions on my behalf. I have some questions I wanted to ask Gibby or one of he experts. I don’t see the PM button. Thank you
You need a certain number of posts (10 or 15?) to be able to PM.
I highly doubt that
I’m sure you can ask the question publicly without giving out compromising details. If the question is should you accept the professor’s offer, it has been asked and answered many times before. If the professor can say something that is not covered by your other recs and gives different insight to you, then it is helpful. If not, then it’s wasting everyone’s time. A letter will not carry any more weight simply because it is from a Harvard professor (or POTUS or a CEO, etc).
15, but be aware that they need to be meaningful posts. Posts whose only purpose is to boost post count will be deleted.
@gibby could always PM if he desires; you can respond to PM’s sent to you.
well…alrighty then. It is a unique situation, I’ve searched. Additionally it would totally out the professor bc he is the only one who leads the group I work with. But thank you.
@cmc1999: I sent you a PM; see if you can reply.
