I have autism and...

I am a senior in high school and I am starting to look at CSU Campuses.
My GPA so far is 3.56 and my SAT score is 1220.
I want to find a campus that supports students on the autism spectrum. I am pretty mildly impacted but I still have autism. I really just want to find good people who enjoy quirky, sometimes socially awkward , students like myself.
Anyone out there with ASD who can share with me what your experiences have been at various CSU’s.
I am looking at either a journalism or political science major.
My list so far is SDSU, San Marcos, Chan Islands, Northridge, Fullerton , Chico or Humboldt.

I’d make a point of touring the schools and talking discussing accommodations directly after the tour. A couple of others to think about - for poli-sci, I’d give Sac a serous (state capitol and all) look. Sonoma is smaller, really residential - also worth a look/tour.

You meet one person with autism, and …you’ve met one person with autism. It can so vary how a school fits YOU and that’s what important.

I second Sonoma as a smaller college community. But some people, who have problems dealing with everyday interactions in a tight community find that going to a large more impersonal school easier. Even such schools have their niches, and it’s really more that you can keep things more impersonal in such settings than at small schools. It’s not always a good thing that everyone knows each other well. Sometimes it’s too well, and not to some people’s Advantage

You should contact the Student Ability Success Center at SDSU or wherever you hope to attend to ask about social events and admission. http://go.sdsu.edu/student_affairs/sds/ are very welcoming and can help with academic and any tech support for your computer.

Thanks everyone. I live about 20 miles from SSU… hoping for a fresh start in a different ( bigger) community.
