I have been looking at the Bowdoin course catalog and it looks pretty theoretical to me. Specifically, I have looked at economics, computer science, and math. I am looking for applied math and data processing in support of an economics degree. I would love to hear from anyone studying these areas at Bowdoin. Thanks!
i study math and cs at bowdoin. CS, as it tends to be in college, is theoretically inclined, though they’ve added some more practical classes recently. Math is definitely more theoretically inclined, - just the nature of the department. But if you take the Stats track courses (Probability - Stats - Advanced stats) you will get some more applicable data-inclined knkowledge. can’t speak to econ as much, but i know econometics is a fairly useful and common classfor econ majors. Also note that once you reach the 200 level a lot of classes are only offered every otehr semester or every other year.
But why do you want these courses? what do you envision doing with them?
