I have difficulty choosing college

I have been admitted to texas tech university with 8000 dollars scholarship per year
I have also been admitted to texas a&m with no scholarship. My question is should I go to tech or a&m?

You need to file FAFSa and wait for final finaid offer sfrom both universities. The important thing is not how much money you get from universities but how much you have to pay out of your pocket or borrow after all scholarships and grants.

I’m having the same problem, I can be above average at lower ranking colleges, such as UTA, UNT, or even Tarleton, and get good scholarships, but average at higher ranking colleges with little to no scholarships. Should I go for a higher ranking college like A&M or UT Austin? Is a higher ranking college worth the extra money?

What are you majoring in?
If you’re looking for a degree in a highly competitive field (such as business, engineering, etc.), it would probably be in your best interest to attend A&M because it is generally known as a “better” school than Tech. However, if you want to major in something more broad (like English or Psychology), Tech would serve you well.
Keep in mind that Tech and A&M are both fabulous universities that are well known throughout the country and especially throughout Texas…so don’t feel like you are missing out on something if your finances keep you from attending one or the other.

That being said, I think you need to check out the campuses before you decide. A&M has an extremely strong culture that you will either love or hate. Tech is pretty neutral, but Lubbock is a city that you will have to decide if you can live in.

Like another poster said, fill out the FAFSA asap! This might help even out the costs between A&M and Tech.

Good luck!
