I have HORRIBLE grades right now.

OK so i am a freshman in high school, soon to be sophomore and my freshman grades havent been the best. I go to an IB/MYP school though so my weighted GPA is still ok and the classes that i take are grade levels higher and are challenging.

So i take
MYP French 1
MYP Honors Chemistry (weighted)
MYP Honors English (weighted)
MYP Honors World History
MYP PE
MYP Alegebra II

so first semester i got all b's in my classes and this semester i so far know that i got a C in french, B in Chemistry, English, World History, and PE and an A in Algebra II

Apart from grades i am on 2 nationally and internationally competing robotics teams and have been doing Indian Classical Dance for 10 years.

I was wondering how much my Freshman grades would effect me when it comes to colleges (UCSD, UCLA, UCB, Johns Hopkins) for biomedical engineering/prosthetics. Esp if i show them that I was able to improve and get straight A's for the next 3 years in the IB program and score over 700 in SAT subject tests and over 2000 in SAT and over 30 in ACT. will my freshman grades still hurt me? since they do pull down my overall GPA?
if so is there anyway i could retake French over the summer to pull it up to an A?

Intentionally overexaggerating your grades as “horrible” is going to get you a lot of hate on this forum. Nothing is set in stone. Just do better. these are the responses you’re going to get.

Come back in two years with your actual grades, not projections, and then we can talk.
