I have lived in California for 30 years..moved to Arizona

for 5 months...and made the major mistake of voting ...registered in Arizona..i didn't realize it might jeopardize ..i am moving back to California in a month..i dont like it here,
question is..am i still a resident of california? i really dont want to pay out of state fees..i am poor.
can i apply for a fee waiver? or must i be a resident for that?also i dropped out of high school after 2 1/2 years AND got the G.E.D. ..it says i could have had an exemption if i completed 3 years of high school!
arrrgg! this is so frustrating! I didnt even realize i could have voted in california on the ballot..since ive only been here in az for 5 months..i was hoping to go to school in CA in jan 13....but that voting mistake may cost me a year delay?

Registering to vote in AZ is clear indication that you considered AZ to be your residence. If you had a place in CA that you considered your “permanent” address, you would have contacted the Board of Elections there, and asked for an absentee ballot.

Move back to CA. Stay there. Fix your residence issues.

OR

Study in AZ.

after living here i did not want to stay, but need to save money to move back.
a few weeks ago,i asked around about voting, and was told i needed to register in az to vote here
i had no idea it would come back to haunt me.
i had no intention of staying here…i just wanted to vote.
i thought i had to register in az to vote here
i cant believe that mistake is costing me a year in school!

FWIW, AZ residents can go to CA state schools for 150% of AZ state tuition. It is not the end of the world. :-)
