I have to write an essay about a song and I don't know what to write about

I have to write an essay about a musical piece that will be my theme song.

So, I'm probably the least artistic person that you will ever meet and I haven't the slightest clue as to how I could express myself through music. I guess I could choose a song based on the lyrics, but none of my favorite songs really describe me. Any ideas as to how I should set up this essay?????????

I've been listening to a lot of Linkin Park and the Dropkick Murphys recently (if that helps).
My favorite Linkin Park song is "New Divide" and my favorite Dropkick Murphys song is probably "The State of Massachusetts."

P.S.- The Dropkick Murphys are a Irish rock/punk band from Boston and Boston is one of my favorite citites, so that could be a start.

I’d go with the Murphys. But I adore boston and that band so I’m completely biased :P. Do whatever you can write best about. Maybe the lyrics don’t describe you perfectly, but you can write about the tone of the song, emotional aspects, etc. Just curious, but what school has this prompt?
