okay, im taking the SATs one last time in may. for transfer reasons. I heard that reading the economist and such significantly helps with increasing your CR score. Is this true??? Im at 570 now and im dieing to bring it up to the 680-730 range. any truth to that? im also memorizing 40 vocab words a day now.

It’s not going to automatically boost you up 100 points, but it’ll help. Practice tests are the most important thing to do. Vocab will be a big help as well.

Please don’t take this as a flame, and I know a lot of people tend to write differently on the Internet, but you might want to brush up your grammar a little.

Good luck :). And, yes, it’s true.

whats wrong with my grammar? i got 4 mistakes on the writing portion of the SAT.:)

oh, if you meant the “any truth to that part”. I made a mistake by asking the same question twice. Thats all.

o right. just guessin. lolz 4 mistakez onli iz ace.

but then again, i had an 8 on the essay which pulled the score down to a 660. Aiming for a 12 and no more than a couple of mistakes.

If you post your essay in a new thread, I’m sure there’ll be some people willing to give some suggestions as to how you could improve it. Also, check out the thread titled “How To Write a 12 Essay in 10 Days” or something.

yeah, im doing my best to improve my essay score. I know I can do it. The thing is, i’m afraid i might have come off as a bit hostile in my last essay. This time i’ll make sure my examples are perfect.I’ll definitely have a look at the “formula” for writing essays as well, lol.

lol “dieing” = dying

The Economist can help but practice helps more, I’ve found.

PM me your essay Lobzz and give me examples of questions you typically miss on the CR and I’ll help you out.
