hello there, i was reffered to this site by one of my professors and was just trying to see if i could gain some more information about possible schools to loook into attending. any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks!!

Where are you located, and what are your credentials? In Mid-Atlantic, Point Park University and Carnegie Mellon have strong musical theatre programs. NYU?

Plenty of good info and insights here http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/musical-theater-major/

Syracuse University

Definitely Carnegie Mellon.. one of the best MT programs.

As violadad pointed out, the Musical Theater Majors forum on this site is an extremely valuable resource. Would you be a transfer student (since you refer to changing your major)? The search for a MT school, particularly one that offers the BFA major, is much more daunting than a typical college search because it involves audition preparation and scheduling as well as the usual application stuff. And the odds are daunting, too. It's important to find a safety school - an academic safety that doesn't require an audition - so you'll have a spot where you can pursue MT. Best of luck!

GO NOW to the MT forum. You'll learn a ton. I did it last year when my D wanted MT (has since changed her mind) and it has an amazing amount of info.

i'm coming out of dallas, and yes i would be a transfer student. i'll have to go check out the forum

awesome, thanks guys

You owe it to yourself to check out Oklahoma City University. Great program.
