First, they take an extra 5 days to let me know whether or not they'd accept me...
Then they have the audacity of sending me a measly POSTCARD to congratulate me on my admission!!!

What the hell is wrong with UCSD...do they really think a paper-thin, 8.5" X 5.5" postcard with a picture of some ugly UCSD students in green shirts is enough to convince me to choose UCSD?

I want to call in and personally decline their offer...is anyone else as upset as I am? I mean...who do they think they are?!?

shiet, ucsd should have sent their chancellor to your home and personally presented you a gold plated acceptance letter that was hammered in with congraduations letters.

i'm also curious as to why they didnt send you an apology card =/, they were a whopin' 5 days late! damn! you should go there and regulate or something.

am i being disrepectful to your thread?
oh, i don't care.

Y'all must be kidding me!
If a school kept you waiting beyond reason only to send a flimsy, little postcard in recognition of your hard work, I think you'd be just as upset.
You think I've got an attitude problem?!? Puh-leez. You would have reacted the same, if not worse.
I'm not saying I'm too good for UCSD or anything - in fact, I didn't think I would get in, being an international student and all. My acceptances to UCLA and UCB actually caught me by surprise. I still thank God for that.
But anyway, going back to my little story here...
I'm sure you all know VERY well that the wait that follows the submission of your application is painstakingly GRUELING as it is...and for UCSD to delay its decions beyond the promised date was just cruel, you know? And the bent, scratched-up postcard I received in the mail 10 days later did very little to "compensate" for my disappointment, that's all...:

I didn't mean to come off as an arrogant, unappreciative transfer student. I think my OP was written in a heat of temporary rage. In reality, I'm grateful beyond words to my CCC for having provided me with the opportunity to attend my dream school.

I hope this post allows my fellow CCers to better understand my humble POV.

With that said, though, I think I'll personally call in tomorrow to cordially decline their offer of admission :P haha

Oh, and "WoahWhatThe": It's CONGRATULATIONS, not "congraduations" you blitherin' idiot. I don't care if you hate me and all, but check you spelling, SON.

On a wee bit happier note...
nspeds: Now THAT's what I'm talking about! :D

Congrat Bokchoi
UCSD's package contains less materials than other UCs...dont know why. There is no department description, nothing convinces you that UCSD is better than other UCs. I kept looking into the envelope to see if I missed something there were only "two" papers in the package
well, dont take my words wrong, we all should do our homework on each school before apply, it is just that UCLA/UCB/UCSC, they all put in lots information in the package.

And you wonder why asian chicks flock to white guys like me instead of asians like you.....

Mine was a simple typo...you're missing an entire syllable, buddy.
And good job finding all those synonyms, man!!! Would you like your gold star for the day???

...You're PATHETIC. I pity fools like you.

And matm1: Just take your white @$$ back to the trailer, yeah?

To prevent myself from engaging in any more unintelligible conversations with some CCers, I will not be posting replies after this. Please note that my silence will NOT be indicative of my defeat.

dude...if notre dame, northwestern...or any of the other schools i applied to wants to send me an acceptance in the form of an automated phone call 10 days late...ill take it, who cares, i got into a school i would care to attend (indicated by my applying there).
