I've been busy with school and senioritis has left me too damn careless to pay attention to the Berkeley app stuff-- I just missed the housing and SLR deadlines by less than a week, but still.

Crap, what do I do?

that’s not good but they will let you turn them in late… find a number to call and call it, now!

Failing to file an SLR just defaults to OOS rates, but judging by your current location, that is what you would have been assessed anyway. no problem with this one.

Failing to file for housing on time means no guarantee you will get a spot in the dorms. You can file now and hope, but also search in here for various posts on coops, off campus housing, apartment searches in the area . . . since most students are not in the dorms, it is not a fatal problem but will be a real PITA since you are not physically here to search and inspect possible places.

Imagine if he was in-state. That’s a hefty price to pay.

I’m out of state. The housing app was due friday-- it’s now Sunday. My prospective roommate and I have requested each other and she’s sent in all her stuff on time; plus, as a freshman, I’m supposed to be guaranteed housing (of course, that’s if I had turned in all my stuff on time.)

You think that’ll affect anything?

Your guarantee of housing is null and void, unfortunately. You can apply and hope, it is not guaranteed that you won’t get in, but you might not.

Her request for a roommate won’t pull you in and rescue the guarantee, if that is the question, but if you are in the system and the fates are smiling on you, you might end up matched with her.

I assume you did the application as soon as you realized the issue (if it is still allowing submissions). Her request to have you as a roommate is more likely to be treated as a one-sided request - same as if the intended roommate didn’t reciprocally select the requester.

Fuuuuuucckkk.
