UC Berkeley Housing

Hi guys,

I just missed the deadline to accept housing offer from Berkeley because I did not check my cal mail regularly, and now I'm in deep ****. I'm living in SoCal, so it's really hard for me. Should I go there to find a place myself or is there any website that has housing ads?

Thank you in advance!

I’m guessing the only option left is looking at the nearby apartments that are not part of the school?

You can try Cal Rentals.

How long is “just missed”? If you’re only a day or two late, try calling them to ask if there’s anything you can do.

It’s 4 days late, and I just emailed them 3 hours ago. They will answer on Monday, and now I cannot relax and enjoy my holiday.

BTW, to use Cal rentals, I have to pay $20 fee, right?

Yeah, $20 fee.

Craigslist

They might still be able to place you. I messed up on my application and didn’t list “any room size - any location” as one of my preferences, and when I called in they told me I didn’t have an offer. I emailed them on the 30th and they were able to place me in my first choice.

They also mentioned Cal Rentals and student Co-ops at CalSO, so I would look into those if you’re SOL. The Co-ops sound like they suck, though.

Just call them and see what’s up on Monday. I’m sure they wont mind accepting you since they do make $13000 off of you. Seriously y’all, the rooms are NOT worth that much. At first I kept an open mind about it but after staying there for a night… man.

And sorry to hijack this thread but does anyone know when we get our roommate assignments?
