I just received a notification that I got a single room in Brown!

Can anyone with experience with the Brown rooms shed some insight? Are the walls made up of cinderblock. Can I use nails? I am on the third floor and thoughful and handy andy insight you have about being in the Choates CLuaster would be greatly appreiocated. Are the ceilings high/low? What are the floors made of? Did you like your experience at Brown?

i actually lived in a triple in fahey, but a lot of my friends lived in the choates. there are no nails allowed, low ceilings, and i think there’s carpet for flooring. you’ll have group bathrooms. as with other freshman dorms, your social life will revolve around your floor, so get to know your floormates. everyone i know liked the choates a lot, though there rooms are smaller than the rest, and everything seems very cramped. it’s also not the best location; you’re far from all food locations and the gym, though you are close to frat row (which may or may not be a good thing for you).

Um, Brown is a different (and better) Ivy League University. Your dorm will be pretty far away from the Dartmouth campus, because it will be in providence.

^ Go away. Go far, far away.
