I know they are not the best schools in the world but...

Anyways I've been admitted to Pepperdine Univ. and UC riverside. I would really love to major in Business but not quite sure exactly what kind of field. Despite all the location matter, I want to believe that Pepp. is actually better school, especially if I am studying business. I went to small but very selective private high school for last four years. In that sense, my parents and almost whole family want me to go to UCR because of the amount of people and the diversity that UCR have(Oh, by the way, I am an international student, if that matters). Some say Pepp actually have good reputation for business in the states but my aunt who is currently living in U.S, do not really agree with it. I understand both schools are not so great business schools, I would really like to increase my chance of getting better education and the future. Where would you guys recommend me? and can anyone tell me the advantages of studying business in Pepperdine over Riverside? thanks in advance.

Pepperdine is a Christian school, remember that. UCR is a big research univeristy, remember that.

Both are great schools, and if you succeed at either one you'll do great. Pepperdine is a gajillion times better in terms of location, however...

I must say I really do not care about the location for now. I just care about the education, reputation, and how well prepared for career after graduated if I gave same amount of efforts.

Congratulations on your acceptances. I'd recommend Pepperdine. Many of my friends at school have parents who graduated from Pepperdine (Law and Business). Their parents are doing well in CA, and some hold high positions at their respective companies. I can't vouch that success will follow all Pepperdine graduates since this is only from a selection of roughly five Pepperdine graduates, but from what I know, Pepperdine seems like the better choice academically and location-wise.

But, if they're comparable in terms of education, and one has a much better locale, then it matters.

Plus, you should be HAPPY where you are. Malibu=happy.

Have you figured out your financial situation, however? It's not a cheap school.

Unfortunately, I couldn't apply for financial aid because I am an international and I did not want to minimize my chance of getting in. I know it is very expensive school but not like USC or NYU rite? and also even if I go to UCR, I have to still pay like 33,000 because I am an international

Honestly, I don't know the exact numbers for an international student, but according to the website, you're looking at $37,000 a year.

<a href="http://seaver.pepperdine.edu/financialassistance/generalinfo/budget-costs.htm%5B/url%5D">http://seaver.pepperdine.edu/financialassistance/generalinfo/budget-costs.htm</a></p>

yea that is about right. It is alot of money but compare to USC(about 45,000 or more) it is okay i guess. and like i said, I have to pay 33,000 to UCR which I really do not think it is worth.

In that case, I think Pepperdine is your best fit! Just make sure the religious affiliation won't conflict with your own, and you're off!

Remember though, Malibu is a beautiful, comfortable place, and you're going to live in bliss. People will resent you and envy you for that. :-)

bumpi bumpi

Pepperdine campus is absolutely beautiful.

Oh yeah, and its business program is better than UCR's, too.
