I know this has been debated ad nauseam but...

How do you intelligence correlates with college admissions and everything that goes with it (SAT, GPA, Course Load etc.)?

I personally have met some very intelligent people who did poorly on Standardized tests. I know many people say that being "a bad test taker" is just a lame excuse, but I know some people who do not study at all but manage to soak up every bit of info in lectures and make great grades and do well on AP/SAT II. Some people say that if you get into Ivy league schools, you are brilliant. I can see it that way, but I can also see that if you get into an Ivy league, you are a hard worker. What do you think?

In general, I think it takes both relative brilliance and an excellent work ethic to get into the most competitive schools. Just being intelligent or just working hard generally isn’t enough for admission to these schools, but it’s certainly not the be all end all
