Im hoping for glowing recommendations from my AP English, AP Bio, and AP Euro teacher. And hopefully I can write really good essays.

I really want to go to Stanford (its my dream school), UC Berkeley, UCSD, UPenn, Oberlin, NYU, and Caltech.

so, any comments would be appreciated, such as my chances at these schools and any other schools I would be appreciated in. Oh and would be chances be better of getting in because I'm from a low income family or would it be worse because I would have to apply for fin. aid? Thanks!

koolaznpygmy:

Assuming you are a California resident,
UCB: Slight Reach
UCSD: Match

thank you flopsy. Can anyone else give me a comment?

I have to agree with flopsy. Stanford is a big time reach unless your SAT has some major improvement

Low income helps most if you are a URM and go to an inner city school. Your sat score is fine for ucs, but won't do for Stanford. Even with a 2200 your chances there will be slim with your GPA and ECs. Need your UC GPA to comment on UCs.

my UC GPA is a 3.8, would that better my chances? Oh and i forgot to add this as an extra-curricular (don't know if it counts) but I'm a first degree black belt
