I recognized 3-4 items.
One is enough!..Welcome!
I have my pin cushion right here, within armās length, and still use it. You can still buy them in stores so I donāt know why that makes one old. The clock radio? still in the bathroom. Beef-a-roni? Called American Chop Suey in my house and we had some last week (and probably every other week of my life) so anyone from age 4+ would recognize that around here.
My friendās mother still has the console TV and it still works. Sheās 99 so officially old. I have no idea how they will get it out of her house (not sure how they got it IN the house) if she ever dies (sheās not planning on it).
I believe we may be related!
Yep, every one. Pretty sure Iām still using that alarm clock, and I know I have film canisters around somewhere.
I think there was a kid every two weeks or so who got slung off that thing into the mud and came into the school building after recess looking like a swamp monster. A gully was formed by kids pushing it and it would collect water when it rained. The boys were too dumb to leave it alone until it dried out.
I recognize a lot of these. The Hawaiian Punch can brought me back to summers with my little brother and our friends, running around our backyard& neighborhood unsupervised - happy when my mom brought out the Hawaiin Punch or Hi-C can, along with fried bologna sandwiches on white bread with ketchup! Yay!
As a side note (not to put a damper on the fun) - Iām trying to reframe my mindset that āoldā is no longer pejorative! Itās memories and (hopefully!) wisdom! I like this author, on that point: https://thischairrocks.com/
With actual film in them?
Well, I guess I am older than the folks the captions are talking about. I didnāt have to go to bed when MASH came onāI watched it. Still a kid, but not that young. This looks like a list for younger people!
I recognized all 32. I cleaned many #14ās in my first job. They might have been theoretically disposable, but we just cleaned them until they were too bent up to keep using.
Iād bet there are a few rolls of Kodacolor Gold and Fujicolor 1600 stashed away with my OM-10 and Elan IIe in the attic. Maybe more like dust that was formerly film, at this point.
Yep all of them plus things posted on here lol. 61ā¦ I donāt feel oldā¦
I tore up my knee that required stitches on the merry go roundā¦ Lol.
That was a walk down memory lane
The pin cushion showed up in a story on The Moth today.
My cousin was the doctor in a very small town. The school and playground was right across the street from her house/office, and there was a huge slide just like this one.
Canāt even tell you how many broken bones were set and stitches put in because of that slide. I do think it is long long long gone.
Ok, @mynameiswhatever , I am a bit freaked out. I am wondering how anyone was able to reconstruct my entire life!
@stradmom , this was my local playground slide. It was super cool!
H had that slide as well as his elementary school! It was still there when the kids were little. We lived in the same neighborhood then. We would take them all the time. We were very unhappy when they tore it down. I understand why, but had we known, we would have made sure to take pictures of the kids on it.
we own a few of those things today - the corelle & fisher price toys!
i didnt recognize the mcdonalds item - was it a cigarette tray?
