<p>I have a problem though during freshman grade i recieved some poor gades- a few 70's and a 65 down from the 98's i got in 8th grade(its on my transcript because they were high school courses)</p>

<p>National merit- scorring 230 on psats</p>

<p>I'm south asain-bangladesh</p>

<p>VARRSITY- SOCCER two year</p>

<p>I volunteered at coney island hospital for 140 hours, i work at my college counselers office, I voluntteer for 10 hrs on weekends at Ny downtown hospital, im a stem cell research at columbia medical center , jewish museum of heritage intern, ive worked in a hospital during freshman yr as a job, volunteer for enviornment cautions, scholors program for junior fellows- we had to do a big project with help on doctors etc now we go on trips to participate and learn in labs, i tutor kids at my old elementary for free
in school - HOPS (help out poverty stricken), Writing club, math team, debate team drama club SING (play put on , competetion btwn better show, freshman-soph vs. juniors vs seniors), model UN, bio med society
This year I raised 1,500 dollars for 3 fundraisers I organized to help starving children in ghana and I am having a fundraiser to buy an acre of endangered rainforest</p>

<p>Awards-Academic awards= 10,000 scholorship won from an essay contest, Arista (like an honor society), archon (people with a lot of community service, Hoping to be intel semi finalist, national merit (, Christ Bozes High School Medical Essay award 500 dollars, The Laureates of Tomorrow - Nobel Essay Contest</p>

<p>umm, with that rank, i just don't see you at HYP. your ECs are ok. nothing special. the awards look great though. maybe in at lower ivies.</p>

<p>I agree with the people above, but did you say you got a couple of C's and D's in your freshman year?
I know that colleges focus on sophomore and junior year, so I'm not sure how much that affects your chances, but I just wanted to point that out.
Other than that, I wholeheartedly agree with the above posts.
Of course, I'm no expert :P</p>

<p>I would personally think all three (UPenn, BU, and Cornell) are around the same caliber, and thus you stand the same chance at each.
Don't know for sure though, the relative chances.</p>

You have a fairly good shot at all the ivies, a reach shot at most of them nevertheless...you are bound to go to a good university</p>

<p>Put Stanford on your list. They discount freshman year. Your stats are extremely similar to mine. Lets hope for the best :). Also you should put Duke on your list...they care more about standardized test scores than GPA/class rank, according to collegeboard at least. As for now, I think you should get into Penn ED. BU you should get with ease. You'll probably get into Brown and Cornell (70% chance) HYP....they are reaches, I'd say you have about a 20% chance. You may want to add your local state school as well just as an ultra-safety...though I doubt you'll need it.</p>
