I’m a commuter, should i join a sorority?

So I’m in my first semester sophomore year and i commuted all throughout my freshman year and this semester. Overall it isn’t bad but i have been having trouble making friends.
I’m a pretty girl (not to sound conceded) and im pretty sociable but i just can’t seem to make many friends. I feel so left out because i don’t go to parties or have any friends who dorm. The friends i made at orientation all moved on and made their own friends and the other 2 friends i made were also commuters but it’s not like we are besties.

I am part of 2 clubs and attend them but the friends i make there aren’t the type to be best friends with. They’re mostly just friends to talk to at the clubs and never meet outside of them.

I want to join a sorority to maybe enhance my college experience. Do you think that would be a good idea? My school isn’t dominated by Greek life like a southern school but it is pretty active. If not joining a sorority what else Can I do to get more involved and actually have a college experience?

Sororities can be great, commuter or not. Why don’t you at least go through rush and see if there are any you like?

I was in Greek Life at the school I attended during my freshman year and there were a couple of women in my sorority who were commuters. I would definitely encourage you to go through recruitment (see if you can get any letters of rec for sororities at your school although it may be a bit late in the game for that now), see if you “click” with any houses, and join. The commuters in my sorority still had a wonderful experience and, if nothing else, always had a place to spend the night on campus if something went late! It’s definitely harder as a commuter to make on campus meetings and stuff like that but I think that ultimately it’s still an incredibly rewarding experience and I encourage you to go through recruitment

I wouldn’t join a house just to join a house but if there’s one or more that appeals to you I definitely recommend it.
