I"m confused... a letter from IIT

<p>I recieved a package form teh Illnios Institute of Tech. yesterday, it was from the Psychcology Department (I was hoping to major in psychology there) </p>

<p>there just just one piece of paper saying that they know x-mas break time is fun but can be stressfull, so they send me a "piece of mind" to help me relieve the stress. and they included a brain shaped stressball keychain.(piece of mind get it? haha)</p>

<p>I applied there about 3 weeks ago on their early notice admission. </p>

<p>so what doe sthat letter mean? my friend says that it prolly means i got in, but anoher friend said m/b it's saying that i didn't get in and they were afraid i would committ suicide or something so they sent the stress ball. (yeah he's a devil's advocate) </p>

<p>and some ppl think it is just something they sent out when they receive my application but i sent my app. 3 weeks ago.....
so why now?</p>

<p>anyone else got anything to add? or recieved one? thanks!</p>

<p>I dont know if many CCers apply to IIT, but maybe you got mail because you are on the mailing list. I would ask other friends who applied if they got mail from a department. I have never heard of a college sending mail only to students who they plan to reject, but colleges will send likely letters to their top applicants who they want to target. I would guess it means nothing, but really doubt that it is negative</p>
