I admit, I messed up. I spent more time goofing off than studying. In nevada we have this scholarship that pays for half of your tuition (Just tuition) after graduating high school with above a 3.5 gpa and taking four years math science and english as well as a foreign language. Also to keep it for four years you have to maintain a 2.6 (Raised .1 a week ago by legislature) during your college career.
I ****ed up. I went down my second semester from a 3.5 to a 2.2 (I did poorly in math and chem) and now I have lost my scholarship. I did study, but not nearly enough. I cant afford the two thousand dollars that I now owe and I cant handle another loan. So folks it looks like this is it. Don't tell me "Oh just find yourself some other scholarships" because I have tried. If you have some advice other than make more money or get a scholarship Id appreciate it. And believe me I would take back every minute of partying, social time, and goofing off and replace it with studying if I knew it would hurt me like this.

You owe money.
You have to pay money.
You don’t want to take out another loan.
What other option is there than get a job?

Whether or not you want to hear it, it sounds like your best bet is to take a semester off and pay back your loan. $2k is not much at all.
If you get your GPA back up do you get the scholarship back? If so, just pay one semester and get it back up.

Yea, I f-ed up during my English course (didn’t do a presentation :/. Apparently they decided last minute to make it worth 20 pts) and lost my state scholarship. “Luckily” I can take out a subsidized loan to cover it and hopefully next semester, I would have gained my scholarship back.

I guess my “advice” is to transfer to a cheaper school or like the above user said, get a job. Maybe you can ask your parents for the money and pay them back when you can.
