I had just finished submitting applications to colleges that allowed your choice of sat or act and I just reported sat’s because they’re better. I then moved to stanford and carelessly submitted without realizing they require both if you took both! Can I update my commonapp and fix it? Do I have to call them and let them know I have to change something? Helpppp
You can just send them now. It’s not a big deal.
If you’re talking about the common app, they ask the scores you “wish to report,” so you can only report one if you’d like (they only ask for your highest scores, anyway). The information is largely extraneous to the Collegeboard reports that you send! If you mean the Collegeboard additional score reports, then just send all your scores as @HRSMom noted.
Even if you don’t do it, they wouldn’t know, unless your testing is on your official transcript.
Even if I didn’t self report it on my application?
I don’t think the self reporting (meaning that you didnt) will matter. The self reporting is voluntary. The reports are required.
Thank you
But considering this is about Stanford, why not consider a quick email noting you inadvertently omitted the ACT and adding that info. It will get into your file. Most likely, they will manually add it to their reviewer template for you.
It’s not a showstopper, but handling it resolves your concerns.
