Lets get to it, today was supposed to be my end all act test, I studied a ton before the exam and got fully prepared. The test was at my school this time around and I felt pretty good overall about my test. At the end of the math section (which is the 2nd of 4 sections) however the moderator, who occasionally is a substitute teacher at my school, stood by me for a 10 seconds. At this time i was pretty close to the edge of my desk because I was putting in my final answers because time was winding down. The kid next to me has his document on the edge of his desk too, so it was close to me. I’ll admit, if I was that moderator I would think cheating is occurring. Usually when cheating is suspected the act is torn up I believe, but in my case the person in charge of the ACT for the day (my college adviser) told me to keep my eyes on my own documents and I said of course. Then when I got into the class he moved me across the room and I finished the last 2 sections of the test normally with everyone else.
So overall I am really worried because I feel really good about my potential score. If they weren’t going to count my score they wouldn’t have let me finish the exam, right? Also after the ACT finished I talked to the kid who was sitting next to me during the math section and he finished the whole thing while I bubbled in A for the last 15 questions (Im not good at trig). So our math section answers will probably be similar because all the tests are identical, but they won’t have exactly the same answers because he finished it and I bubbled in 15.
Usually any suspicion of cheating results in a terminated test, but in my case they let me finish it as I already stated.
Has anyone gone through a similar situation? Any thoughts? I am losing it right now, I already told my parents that this test is going to be my best.
I think you should be fine. If the proctor was officially going to accuse you if cheating than you would probably find out, they’re required to escort you out if the test.
Ok thanks thats what I suspected. Very relieved.
Same happened with me, but I didn’t get accused of cheating. I went to a school I’ve never been to and they had some of the smallest desks I’ve ever seen. My answer document was leaning on the edge and it got so crowded that my backup pencil fell off.
