I need a laptop that's under $700. Please help!

I can't seem to find anything reliable for college. I'll be starting UCSB this Fall as a junior transfer and I need a laptop that is good for typing papers and doing general research. I'm currently looking at lenovos. Any suggestions? Preferable something that I can buy at a local store. I don't want to take the chance buying something online. Thanks.

So far I have found the Lenovo U310 (Frys) and Lenovo P500 (bestbuy). I'm leaning towards the P500 because it's touch screen and they are including microsoft word University for free. That'll save me $80

Lenovo p500

Lenovo u310

Out of those two I would go for the Lenovo P500 simply because the Lenovo U310 has a known wifi issue where the download/upload speeds are subpar (there’s a long thread on the Lenovo forums about this issue) and as far as I know the issue is still uresolved.

Last gen asus zenbooks are on amazon for around $700 I think.
