that's a LAC, somewhat competitive, and in an urban-ish setting. Oh, and I'd like it to be in the Midwest. =P

Have any suggestions?

I absolutely love Kenyon, but I'm afraid that I won't enjoy its really small student body and small town population.

How about Macalester?

Have you considered Oberlin College? Although the city of Oberlin is small, it's about 30 miles from Cleveland.

Loyola in Chicago would fit, but you probably do not want the religious connection. U of Rochester would fit, except for the location.

I second Macalester for you.

I third Macalester. Exactly what you are looking for, unless you would consider it to be more than "somewhat" competitive

Not a LAC but University of Dayton, or Case Western (very urban and more competitive).

Macalester came to mind first, and Carleton's just half an hour away from St. Paul.

Lake Forest College near Chicago
College of Wooster, OH
Ohio Wesleyan University, near Columbus

Macalester is in the Twin Cities. Carleton is a short drive away. Both competitive LACs.

Rhodes College in Memphis.
