I need advice on when to take tests!

Okay so here is the situation. I was supposed to take my third and final SAT I in June and then take 2 SAT subject tests in October. However, I was sick the morning of the June SAT so my schedule got moved back (SAT I in October and probably SAT II in November).

I wanted on apply Early Action to all of the colleges I want to attend, but there is only one issue. Two of the colleges (Princeton and Cornell) require two SAT II tests and I have yet to fulfill this requirement. I really want to improve my SAT I score though.

So my question is this. Should I take the SAT I in October, submit my early application, then take the November SAT II and hope that the scores get there in time? or should i take the SAT II first and risk my SAT I scores being too low?
I guess a third question should be, is it just better to submit all my applications early except the ones that require SAT II, and then submit those two applications after I take the test?

Thanks in advance

ask Princeton’s admissions office this question. why trust us?

Unfortunately, you still need to submit SAT2 to Cornell even if you submit ACT. Otherwise, it may be a simple solution. Check with the admission office to see when would be the last test score accepted. If you do not have any SAT2 scores, then I would suggest you to take that first as you already have a SAT1 score on hand. In any case, you do need to prepare thoroughly for both tests. If you cannot secure a good score by EA deadline for those competitive schools, you should just wait for RD or you would be likely rejected early on. For schools that have very low rejection rate at EA (ie. deferred if not accepted), then you may apply EA even without knowing your final score. Otherwise, you are risking your chance rather than helping.

Cornell doesn’t offer Early Action, so unless you decide to solely apply ED there, you will have to wait to apply Regular Decision, which gives you a little more time to take the subject tests.
