I will be applying to college in the fall. However, I need to retake the SAT and take subject tests as well. That means I will be testing in October and November. However, I plan to apply early action (deadline Nov. 1). I will rush-order my scores. Can colleges accept scores slightly after the application deadline?

No

Have you not taken any subject tests yet?

Colleges will accept scores slightly after the application deadline (you can send them in and email them to notify of a change in your application), but only if all your testing was completed when you first submitted your application.

I’m not sure if this speaks for all colleges, but I feel like if you only submit your SAT 1, colleges will just mark your application as incomplete and not look at it again even if you submit your subject tests later. By the time your nov. scores are scored, most colleges have made some sort of decision. I think it’s better to send in bad scores that meet all the requirements (SAT 1 and two subject tests), and then later send better scores that might change the college’s mind, then have your entire application thrown out for not meeting all the requirements before the deadline.

I’m almost positive they won’t accept them. I have the same problem. I need one math and one science sat subject but I only took Math II in June. So I need October to take a science and retake Math II. I wanted to retake the regular SAT because I was unhappy with my score but I can’t do anything about it. My application means nothing if I don’t meet the two subject tests requirement. I’m still taking the SAT in November, but that will be used for RD (assuming I won’t get into my choice of school ED).
