I need advice...

I took the SSAT at the beginning of the year as an 8th grader(upper level) in 7th grade.
I didnt prep for it, and i think i can do better but what would happen to me if i showed these scores?

Verbal 704 75%
Math 761 87%
Reading 707 86%
Total 2172 86%

It looks horrible to me, and if you need any other info i will give it to you. my bday is oct. 12/95 so i have just turned 13.

Those are perfectly fine scores. Anything in the mid-80's puts you in the game at pretty much ANY school. Not to worry. No guarantee of admission (but then again neither is a 99% for that matter), but you have no reason to stress over your score.

synonyms r:20 w:1 o:9
analogies r:16 w:8 o:6
for vocab

main idea r:17 w:2
higher order r:16 w:5
reading.

i think i can get a full score for math. total wrong = 7 its easy =)

@Linda
what school are you attending?

it's definetly not horrible. those are good enough to apply with but if you want to raise it, by all means go for it.

they are acuatlly qutie good. I think with some prep you could get those scores into the 90s and that would make it so you were a contender for any school

my total gpa for 7th grade is 3.78 (if that helps at all)

as long as your in A average your good. You also want to have a good amount of ECs. What ECs do you have?

what are EC's?

ohh. do EC's have to be at school?

at school i only am on the academic team, but i had participated in computer club, band, Words of wisdom(club)((we dont have a lot of EC's at school.))

outside of school i do tennis, swim, umm, ski, piano, tae kwon do, and i travel(a lot of vacations) i dunno but around the neighborhood i play basketball and football.

not really sure about anything... lol

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
At school I have participated in the school band (saxophone), the Computer Club, Words of Wisdom, and I am currently on the Academic Team.
Outside of school, I train in Tae-Kwon-Do (expecting Black Belt in the spring) and do volunteer work 3 times a week, have tennis class for two hours on Tuesdays and Sundays, and swim a few times a week. Around the neighborhood and with my friends, I play basketball and bike a lot on my free time.
My family and I travel a lot as well. Most of the time it is for vacation, but I have learned a lot about culture and language from places like China, Canada, Netherlands, Greece, the Caribbean, Yellow Stone National Park, and some states like Alaska, Florida, and Hawaii.
I have played piano for more than 5 years as well. I regularly have classes and play every day. My sister plays as well and we do duets together.
Swimming has also been a great influence on me, ever since I started 4 years ago; I swim for fun and for exercise as well. Fishing has also been an enjoyment, and lake fishing yields great results. And on many ski resorts and mountains, I have enjoyed skiing every winter, since I was 4 years old.

btw i am applying for
Andover, Exeter, Deerfield, Lawrenceville, and Peddie

i dont' think ECs necessarily have to be in school but they have to be something beyond academics in school

It does not have to be part of the school.

Pretend you took the upper level test in the 7th grade and got a good score, can you use that test score instead of taking them again in the 8th grade???

Probably not latin5555. You would need to ask the school, but most want a current year test.

Ok, thanks. :-)
