I need help/advice about extracurriculars!

Alright so I'm a little nervous as far as EC's go because I don't exactly feel connected to my school at all. Grades and everything aren't a concern.

Spring before I went to high school I found out I was redistricted to the other high school in the district (East), apart from all of my friends except one. I was devastated, and have since had a resentment for my high school. I have made a few friends throughout the years at my school, but none that I ever see outside of school. Therefore I haven't really participated in any activities going on at East. I know if I went to the other school that I was supposed to be attending (Henderson) I would love to participate and do lots of things/be in clubs with my friends, but my heart just isn't in it at my school. I played field hockey and lacrosse freshman year, but that's about it. I love hanging out with my friends, however, and do so pretty much every day after school. But that can't exactly go on my college app. I just don't want people to think I come home and do nothing after school every day.

So here's my question. What can I do to become involved? I'm pretty shy so plunging into things with people I don't know isn't very appealing. Also, if I start now, won't it look like I just did a lot of things to boost my app? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you are a rising senior with no ECs, it would be virtually impossible to get something together that would impress top colleges by the time that applications are due. All I can suggest is that you get a parttime job, which would be counted by colleges as an EC.

However, you may not need to fret over your lack of ECs because it's mainly the very top colleges that care that much about ECs. If you're applying to public universities, they'll care mostly about your stats as will most second tier universities and even some private first tier universities.
