I actually applied for Finance at first since Stern is definately my favorite. However, it turned out that I received an offer which said I'm in Economics, general in CAS! It really frustrates me!

So, is it possible for this kind of situation to happen? If so, how could I possibily change my school from CAS to Stern? I really love Finance and I REALLY want to become a sterny!

Thank you so much!

transfer after first year …there was a thread up about cas to stern experience from a few months ago look for it.

I just want to tell you not to listen to any counselor who tells you that transferring into Stern is impossible. It certainly is possible and not rare as I know several people who’ve been successful at it.

According to the ambassador that I spoke to from Stern, about 10 students were accepted for sophomore transfer for the fall. It IS very difficult to transfer, you need stellar everything - GPA, grades, extra-curriculars. Often times, they also look at your high school record, if you had the proper stats in high school to get into Stern, along with the ideal college transcript, you hold a better chance. Not impossible, but it’s not a cake-walk
