I really respect everyone's opinion on here and I have read many many posts and have gained insight into all the colleges I have researched.

These are my stats as of now .. I'm in the end of my Junior year and planning on early admission. I am looking at Penn State, University of Texas and U of Miami as these are the major I am planning on.

Miami is my dream school and since my major is only in 16 colleges I don't have many choices and need to get in desperately!!

Ranked 3 in my class out of 110 or in top 3% at a very highly ranked public high school in NJ. Ranked 28 out of all Public High School In NJ
1st took SAT 1870 .. just took again .. didn't get back yet

This year I took
AP History
AP Bio
Physics 1
English
Spanish 4
Pre Calc

Senior Year I will take
AP Spanish 5
AP Physics 2
English
AP Calc 2

Really? @soze I would like to believe that Miami is the hardest school out of the 3 to get admitted to. Penn state and UT Austin accept around 50% of their applicants… Miami only selects 40%. And I would also say that Penn and UT have worse applicant pools as well, seeing as they’re such large schools and are known for their partying (this is just my conjecture).

I’ve also seen students who are not that bright get admitted to Penn.

Of course this is just my opinion and I’m still a high school student as well.

UT is much more selective than Miami. You also can’t go by percentages especially in this case since if you’re from a TX HS and in the top 7% of your class, you’re automatically in.

Texas has a much higher quality national applicant pool than Miami. Texas’ stats are thrown off by the in state applicants

I want to major in Architectural Engineering … while it’s not a new field … Penn State started their program in 1918 I think … most colleges have Civil Engineering which doesn’t fit my career path.

I am excited because I got my new SATs this morning and I scored 2100 which is a nice jump.
