hi,
I was thinking of getting the cliff notes for standardlize test book to prepare for that act.Is this the best choice ?the only reason why I'm going to get it was because it had so many good reviews on Amazon. I was also thinking about Princeton Review, but some say it's good and others say it's not.can somebody help me decide on what to get? I need a book that is going to actually teach me the math concepts because I don't know some of the math on the act test.I only know basic math like on the GED test.I don't trig.,eclipse of a circle, rational and ratical expressions.just to give a few examples.and I want to here from someone who had these problems, and what book help them thanks

Princeton Review is good for the basics but not as much for practice.

Hi testmylanguage,
I’m not able to pm you.so what did you do to get that 34?what advice you can give me to learn some of the math concepts on the act math?

Before you start learning all that new math stuff make absolutely sure that you know everything you already learned. It takes a long time to learn entirely new math concepts - it is much easier to relearn old concepts. Are you in high school? What math class are you in?

The problem is that you cannot just memorize a few little concepts; you have to really understand the math behind them. With all the word problems and tricky setups, you have to have a fairly holistic knowledge. Look at it like taking an entire Math class - not like just learning a couple of little things.

FYI - You can still score in the mid 20s with only a knowledge of basic algebra and geometry.

Also, no offense (I know this is a casual forum), but you may want to look at an english study guide. Here is a free one:

What book will teach me the math?does anyone know if Princeton Review does that or do they just teach you strategies?please someone help.I can only buy 1 book for now

Without a doubt, your local library will have some books. They’re free, just don’t write directly in them.

And most books will teach you content + strategy, so you’ll be fine.
