which of those is earlier?

Just hit the big points. You can extrapolate answers from test if you understand the main ideas. Use Princeton Review to study and take practice tests (I took like 4).

That got me a 5 on the AP.

AP Euro was the killer of the sophomore class! 2 A-'s in each class. Most kids never took an AP class after that...

that is bad.

Also, be sure to study a lot of late 19th-20th century stuff in the spring. My class--we had a crappy teacher--didn't do ANYTHING on the 20th century. I spent the day and night before the test cramming on Communism, the World Wars, etc, and there were more questions on that time period than I expected. And the DBQ! I pulled a 4 somehow. Just don't forget about that stuff..maybe it's just that I had a bad teacher, but yeah.

Hey i'm taking AP Euro too as a sophomore, and yeah it's my first AP it's really hard because my teacher gives us a quiz everyday and the questions are all essay questions, only a few get over 60%. On our first test on the Renaissance/Reformation I got a C :( Now my class average is an 80.0%

I'm going to try to improve that on the next test (on Calvinism, wars of religion, explration, and the netherlands).

But you're not alone in thinking it's a hard class!

My ap european teacher Never give us quizs, yes, i mean never. And he doesn't have outlines or anything. he just say the notes and we have to write it down really fast, so we miss spelled many words, like the name of some nobles. i don't know if it is a problem to write the wrong name on the ap test. And we are far behind, etc. i m screwed.

AP Euro killed me last year. i took 20-30 pages of notes on every chapter, studied almost everyday the month 1/2 before the test and got a 3. i hated euro history. that being said, you probably don't want my advice now, but i'll say it anyways. try to relate things to topics which with you are more fimiliar with. this particularly helped me with all those philosophers....i compared them to like a modern day author and remembered what they did that way. wars, compare with more recent wars or at least ones you know more about. good luck!

youknowme: yeah, i never had quizzes/tests or anything. makes studying for the exam harder i think.

PointandShoot, where r u from. Hope it won't turn out we r in the same school. LOLz

I have another question for you guys...

My teacher has been giving out pop quizzes on our readings and the problem is that our reading list is tentative. So what we are quizzed on is something we've read a week ago. And then he just threw out our last two quizzes. I don't see the point in giving out pop quizzes in an AP Western Civ class because if you aren't keeping up with the reading, then it's your own fault if you get a bad grade in the class. I know that's not what profs do in college because they tell you what to read and if you read it then it's fine and if you don't then it is also fine because you are the person who's paying for the courses.

How do I tell my teacher this without insulting him and telling him how to do his job??

umm well... just know that AP Euro is a killer, and probbably one of the hardest social studies APs
Personally, I totally bs'ed the entire class.... and I managed to pull off an 85 avg (98 weighted) and a 3 on the test.
if i had to go back in time, I would actually do the readings and not zone out during the lectures.. so that is my advice for you
I hope you have a good teacher, my teacher was absolutely brilliant but terrible at relaying information...
good luck! it gets better after euro...

I dont want to take it next year....the students teach each other...which is great cuz u'll def know what you are teaching....but you cant always rely on others to teach well

I'd anonymously email your teacher telling him how you feel about his class and that way he will not know who it is. But don't be TOO brutal, just say how you feel and what could be done to improve his teaching and/or the class.

This is the first year he's teaching an AP course.....
