I need help on different stuff here

Let me give little background about myself, I live in Azerbaijan. Born here, raised here.
I'm 15 right now, gonna be 16 in May. I'd love to study at USA but admission process looks pretty complex to me. I got 6.5 on my IELTS (with no preparation at all), gonna give it another shot this month. I believe I can get 7-8. I'm gonna take my SAT Reasoning 1 on summer of this year. I don't have much trouble grasping and solving Math problems however I struggle a little in Critical Reading. Writing is decent. I'm reading Barron's 601 words right now.

I can calculate my GPA using online resources but I'd like you guys to do it for me so I can be sure about it. We have grade system of 2 to 5. You either get 2, 3, 4 or 5 from each subject. My grades are mostly 3 and 4. Let's say 3.5. How much my GPA would be? (Keep in mind you can't get 1.)

Second thing, is SAT Reasoning 1 the test I wanna take? Most undergraduate admission page just state "SAT".

I want to apply to CUNY mainly because of high admission rate and low tution costs. (Please don't suggest me to study here rather than going to low level US university. Our colleges can't even hold candle to them). I believe I won't have any problem adapting to NYC life and I can live on budget. Now I was wondering if I could do my first 2 years in CUNY community college (because of costs) and get associate degree and then transfer to CUNY senior college and do only 2 years there? CUNY promises 60 credits transferred to senior college if I can get my associate. Does that mean I will only study 2 years to get my bachelor? Or full 4?

I'm at grade 10 right now. We have only 11 years here. Starting at September, ending at May. I will get my diploma on May 2013. Is May time when admissions are open? How much time I have left to send my admission after that? How long admission usually take? And should I sent to multiple universities at once to be safe? Because you gotta do 2 years military service here if you don't get admitted to university after you leave school.

I appreciate any tips you can give me. I will ask my questions in this thread as they arise.
Thanks

Also how these early application things work?

Now that you know my situation can I get guideline what I should do and when to do that?

Also I believe I can get good recomendation from school teacher and personal. What is my overall chances?

– You do two years at a community college, transfer, and do the final two years at the 4-year school. Sometimes you may have to take extra courses at the 4 year school in case not everything transfers.

Is May time when admissions are open? How much time I have left to send my admission after that?
– Admissions period is usually in the fall/winter of your last year at school. The specific dates vary from university to university, but at many you can apply as early as October and as late as March/April. Most schools require you send your final grades, but will accept you based on your earlier grades and your test scores. How long it takes also depends on the school. Many smaller universities, and those that have early admissions, can let you know within a month or so after applications. Many other universities with later application deadlines will announce their acceptances/denials by late March/early April.

*What is my overall chances?
– Hard to say, but the biggest question is: can you afford the tuition? If you have the money (and can prove it in order to get your student visa) it won’t be much of a problem to get into a community college.
However, if you require financial aid, that’s a whole different story. Financial aid for international students is EXTREMELY limited, available in a small number of American universities, and not available in public community colleges.
So before you get too committed to the idea of studying in the USA, you must first read on the costs and requirements. Even a community college may cost you around $20,000 per year taking into consideration room, board and books/supplies.

Thanks. That clears up a lot.

Anyone can calculate my approximate GPA score please?

Grades will be calculated approximately like this:

5 = A

4 = B

3 = C

2 = D

I am unable to help you, but i recommend that you ditch the Barron’s word list and start going through the Direct Hit list, volumes 1 and 2. It’s spot on.
