I need help, please

I love my counselor, but she's always too busy to talk with anyone about college and future plans. The rare times she can talk, she usually tells us it's "our decision" and leaves it at that. Even as a senior, she hasn't been able to help much. She's busy and I understand, but I need advice on which schools to apply to.

I'm interested in being a political science or history major, and I plan on going into law after my Bachelor's (or Master's) degree.

I'm a Texas senior in the top 10%, so I know I can get into any public university in state. The only one I'm interested in is Texas A&M.

To quickly cover a little about me...
Female, bilingual
I'm top 5%, National Hispanic Scholar, 1910 SAT (which I am DEFINITELY retaking), 28 ACT (not retaking).
I have a slew of extracurricular activities, all of which I am actively involved in and most of which I have had leadership positions in. I do Girl Scouting outside of school, and I have plenty of community service hours.

I have some schools in mind, but if you know of any schools good in political science that sound right for me please do tell. Public, private, in state, it doesn't really matter (I'm not picky). The only things I don't want are a very small population (3,000ish or less) or a huge class size. I'd rather go somewhere more urban, but I'm flexible. I just need some guidance.

If you have any more questions, ask.

thanks :)

Have you looked at Tulane in NOLA? It's a good law school and they have political policy programs. Try searching for public policy centers. Lyndon Johnson set up a public policy think tank at some colleges in Texas, John Heinz set up public policy in Penn, Gerald Ford in Michigan. These schools attract more political majors and have more opportunities.

I know A&M has the Bush School of Government and Public Service which is supposed to be pretty good, and the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs is at UT Austin...which I'm not applying to.

I'll look into Tulane, thanks. :]

Does anyone else have any suggestions?
