I'm applying to various universities online and my school hasn't sent my transcript or counsler recs to the colleges yet (they say it could take up to a week), is it still okay for me to send my application in right now (and pay) or should i wait until the site stays that they have recieved all of my info?

also, i've won some awards such as ventures and Maryland distinguished scholar and some colleges have sent me letters saying that if i apply, then my fee will be waived if i send them a certif. should i send a copy of the certif directly to the school or give it to my guidance counsler to send with the transcript. how will i know if they recieved it and waived my fee?

Send your things now. Many colleges assume that the earlier students get their app in, the more interested the students are, and that can help students get admissions and merit aid.

It's normal for counselors and teachers reccs to come later. The college opens a file for you when they get the first part of your app, whether that's scores, reccs, transcript or the app iteself.

Send the fee waiver certificate to the school directly, preferably with your application or with a note saying that you're applying for next year's freshman class. By sending the certificate yourself, you'll know that the info really was sent. It's easy for your GC to overlook sending something like that because usually the GC just needs to send recommendations and the transcript.

My counselor sent a fee waiver and I was not contacted about it. I guess you are supposed to assume that if the college will not accept your waiver or the waiver never came, they will contact you. I mean they want their money, and all.
