I am deciding between UF and three smaller schools: GW, Skidmore, and Franklin and Marshall. UF is free for me. Any suggestions?

Im in the same boat between UF, Bucknell, GW and Hamilton
UF is also free and I'm leaning UF.

read what I said in the other thread reguarding finances, it pretty much sums up my opinion

Why would you possibly pay 30k a year to go to George Washington, when UF is 3k a year and is ranked higher?

I am in the same boat! I can go to a small private college, Wofford, for free, or Florida for pretty cheap (I'm OOS). I dunno what to choose.

GW over UF any day. Sure, take the money grab if you can get it, but UF is just a large southern diploma mill. If you play sports, obviously UF. Gainesville or DC? That doesn’t seem like a hard one if you want action and diverse opportunities.

Do you plan on going to graduate school? If so I think that makes the decision much easier…go to UF (still a great school, ranked pretty much the same as GW) for free and save your money for graduate school. Plus, the weather can’t be beat =)

You guys realize you’re replying 6 years later, right?

LOL!! No I didn’t, but I see that now. Hmmm… I wonder what she choose after all!?

Does anybody know why they all seem to be settled on the idea that UF will cost $3k?

6 years is probably a record for longest necro I’ve ever seen, btw.

I think they get 3k from the in state price for UF credit. I think the website says each undergrad credit costs about $187-$190 so if you multiply that by 15 (estimate for full time students). It would be around $2,800+ which they seem to round up to 3k (maybe including book expenses or whatnot).

but this would be per semester. I think they messed up, unless they plan on taking 15 credits per year lol

This was also 6 years ago, I’m sure prices have gone up.

Yeah $30 per credit.
