I NEED SAT HELP!!!! Please!!!

I have read every single post about how people were able to bring up their SAT scores above 2000. I was wondering how you guys actually did this on a daily basis other than doing one or two sections everyday and review it because I need more help than that because I have a lot of the material to cover before my exam on June 7 and I am freaking out about the fact I did not learn a lot of things in my school. I was wonder how you guy review math concept, learn how to analysis reading passage, how to memorize the right amount of vocabulary word for the exam, and how to learn grammar all over again?

I was able to bring up my sat score about 240 points. But I need a lot more help because I have very little resource and I would appreciate all the help I can get from you guys. I would like to say thank you in advance to anybody who is willing to help me. :)

In fact I think all you need to do now is practice! Rather than read the skill you may better do exercises.Try to accumulate your former errors and compile them in a book.
The posts are others and you can just neglect them!
Math is the easiest part in SAT. What you do is to generalize the exam point such as the polygonals and functions and learn some formulas.
I am an international student and now my score is flatuating around 2000 and ten days later I will sit on the examination room, maybe there are some spelling mistakes but I hope the words above can help you:)

What’s your score breakdown per section?

What are your weak areas in each section (what types of questions are you missing). I would say it’s a bit late in the game to focus on vocab. That takes more of a long-term effort, but tells u more so we can give you specific advice. If you want me to reply, put @testadvice at the top of your response so I know you replied

Math: 560
CR:510
Writing: 460

I started with 1290 and brought that up 1530. But I want to bring it up to above 2100 and I know that’s not going to happen on the June test so I will retake it in October.So, I have the whole summer to study. I feel like my weakest area is Writing section and I tend to forget grammar rules after a while, not even that when I look at the writing question, I don’t even know exactly what I have to search to find to find the correct answer. For Math section I can answer level 1, 2, and 5 question, but I have problems answer the level 3 and 4 question and I have some problems with the grid-in question. For Critical Reading section I struggle with the overall passage question, compare the author 1 to 2 and the sentence completion question.

Thank you for the advice. I have started a notebook with all my SAT mistake. I wish you good luck on your SAT May 3. I hope you get the score you want. If you have any more advice for me please post it here. Thank you again :slight_smile:

@sz3456 if you know that it is not going to happen in the June test and you have to take it in October again then don’t take the test in June. You have already taken it twice, it does not make sense to take a test if you know you are not ready. Keeping track of all your mistakes in practice tests in a notebook is a great idea. Also work on building your vocab and build some speed reading passages. First just try to answer correctly and don’t worry about time and once you have some score improvement then time the tests.

Take it one thing at a time:
Writing: Learn each of these backwards and forwards:

Go through your mistakes and see which one of these you are having the most trouble with.

I have not take a official SAT test yet. Those test score are breakdown of College Board exam that I have take as a diagnostic test and progress test. But should I should I take my exam in June or October I want to sent the best score I can get.

@testadvice‌

Thank you for all your help I will go through my grammar mistakes today but do you have any more advice for me.Should I take my SAT in June or October? or both?

@sz3456‌

“Should I take my SAT in June or October?”
There are a lot of variables there. Not all admissions departments have the same score reporting policies. Some schools Superscore, some require all of your scores, others allow you to choice which scores you send. I would research which schools have what policy.

Here is another variable, one which you have more control over: Realistically, how many hours per week (including weekends) will you be spending on the SAT between now and early June.

“am freaking out about the fact I did not learn a lot of things in my school” - You are not alone. On the Critical Reading sections, much of what you are tested on has little to do with what you learned in school. On the Writing section, the grammar section tests what you learned in school a long time ago. The problem is that they do not teach grammar in high schools, which makes life more difficult for a lot of people. The essay section does test paragraph organization and how to structure an argument, which should overlap with what your teachers look for when they grade your essays for your classes.

Don’t try to tackle everything at once, first try two writing (multiple-choice) sections and see which ones you miss.

What book are you using?

Awesome. So using either the list I gave you, or one of your books, which of the commonly tested grammar rules are you usually missing on the multiple-choice (Writing) section?
