I need some advice about raising my PSAT score

I recently took a practice PSAT and received a score of 213.
Even though I was far from disappointed by my result, I am currently aiming to become a national merit scholarship semifinalist or finalist.
Because I live in Texas, it can be inferred that the cutoff score will most likely range from 216 to 220 based on results from the past few years.
At the moment, I'm not sure how I could find the few extra points to score a merit scholarship, so I was wondering whether anyone in the community would be willing to give a few pieces of advice.

Thanks,

I was just going to ask the same question, karmapolizei!

My son scored 213 on the practice, as well, and we’re in California, so he needs to boost it even higher, possibly. The low in recent years was 219 with a high of 223 this year.

A few math and CR reading questions answered correctly would make the difference for him. Silly mistakes and one weird reading passage seem to be his downfall. He got a 730 on CR on the SAT last spring but the practice test was only 680 or 690. :-(

Would love advise, as well. (We’re homeschoolers, fyi)
