i need some advice

i had interview today. it didnt go that well for me. i dressed well but i was nervous. it was my first interview in my entire life. I didnt know what to expect. i had some good answers and the interviewer said that was noble. however, i fidgeted too much. is that gonna effect my chances of getting nomination? is interview weight that much for a nomiation? btw i only applied for U.s merchant marine academy for a nomination

The interview...it depends on your competition. Depending on what state you are from has an impact as well. Some of the states such as Virginia, Texas and California have a lot of applications to the federal academies. If you are from a state that does not have that many, then your interview may not have as much weight. Don't forget that most of the other candidates are in your shoes too. Just hang in there and hope for the best!

tlswogh89--
It sounds to me like you did a fine job!!

If you weren't nervous--they would have thought that you didn't care!!

The USMMA usually doesn't have as many nominations as the other academies. So I think that is good news for you.

Make sure you apply for not only your two senators and your congressman, but also the VP--

If you don't get a nomination from the senators or congressman, the VP nominations can be used as well.

Best of Luck--I think you did fine...just relax...See you at KP next year!!!

hope the best for you, tls....it is behind you now...all will work out in your best interest...rooting for you....

woops not rooting...sorry about spelling....he he

I remember when i went in for my interview i had these old guys who grilled the crap out of me even stating that my resume should have been better and stuff like that (i thought it was a rather impressive resume but whatever). I thought it went so bad that i basically gave up on the idea of a nomination but a couple months later i got that nomination letter in the mail. So basically you really shouldn't worry about it. Whats done is done and as long as you answered your questions honestly and showed this is what you really want then you should be fine. Keep a positive attitude and don't stress over it. :-)

Yes KP2009 good point. When my son left his interview with Senator Allen he was sure he blew it completely and as we drove home he was saying, well there goes that nomination source.......well a month later he got a phone call stating he was the #1 choice..........see TLS.....you just never know what they are looking for :)
