I'm very interested in pursuing a degree in business or economics. Since economics is somewhat considered a science (is it?), i was wondering if it was possible to research economics with a professor at a local college, like some high school students do with biology professors. Any ideas on how I could get started? Thanks.

Economics is a SOCIAL SCIENCE, but it has nothing to do with hard sciences. It's not hard to find internships with investment banks, but that's mostly for university students. I'm not sure about professors, but you could certainly get internships with local banks.

Do professors do research in the field of economics, like studying market trends? I was asking if it is possible to research with a professor, like a lot of biology students do with local biology professors.
