I'm in my second year of college and I majored in accounting my first year but didn't really like it so I tried computer science but its too hard so I want to switch back to accounting next semester. I need to drop my two computer science classes but then I wont be a full time student. If I drop them and become a part time student will I lose my financial aid for the second semester? I'm really stressed out because I don't really know what to do and don't have anyone to ask.

Talk to your FA department before you make any decisions.

Dropping below half time *may *make you ineligible for aid for next semester, depending on the school’s SAP (satisfactory academic progress) policy. It may also cause you to have to repay aid you have received for this semester. The Pell grant, for instance, requires that you complete a certain % of time for classes you have received aid for (usually 60% or more - but check with the school). You have to have earned the aid. Dropping classes can cause you to have to repay aid that has been disbursed to you (and you still have to pay for the classes you have dropped if you are past the add/drop school for your school).

Go and talk to your FA department. They will know the rules at your school, and will be able to tell you what impact dropping classes will have. If you have any scholarships, make sure you are not failing to meet the requirements to keep those.
