I really want to join community colleges in CA. Anyone who knows a college that I can get late fall admission?
What area of California would you like to attend a community college? There are plenty of CC’s that are still accepting applications for Fall 2022.
Any college that will offer Criminal Justice major
Do you have any suggestions
The latest fall term starts are probably the three quarter system community colleges (De Anza, Foothill, and Lake Tahoe). The semester system community colleges are more likely to have already started their fall semesters by now.
lake tahoe will admit based on a major or any major can be admitted?
Here is a list of CC’s that offer Criminal Justice. As stated by @ucbalumnus you might want to look at CC’s on the quarter system which have later start dates and are listed on their post.
Community colleges are open admission. However, courses or majors may be full and may select somehow (first-come-first-served, or some other admission process). Check with the major and college for specific details about whether this is an issue.
Thank you so much. However, I wished I could get a school that directly admits so that I do not spend too much time in researching
It is not difficult to enter a community college. You may have just missed the Fall semester. You should be ready by Spring.
Once you apply, you will be admitted into a CC however you may not be able to take specific classes since you are applying and enrolling late.
I am assuming your goal is to purse a 4 year degree so you will be just taking pre-req and transfer course requirements so you can transfer into a Criminal Justice Bachelors program? Even if you cannot enroll in some CJ specific classes this Fall, there are plenty of other courses that need to be completed for transfer.
If your goal is just a Certificate or AA only program, then there may be limitations on the classes.
I checked with my son who is taking classes at Pierce College, which is part of the LA community college system. He said some classes start in the second half of the semester and last 8 weeks. You can search for them via the searchable schedule of classes. For Pierce, it’s linked to from the schedules page. In the search, you can select just the second half classes:
I don’t know if any of those classes are required for the Criminal Justice major, but it’s always helpful to take general education courses to get started.
(My information is based on the LA area, but I expect the story is similar in other parts of the state.)
