Two things disturb me about this thread.

How could you never have heard of 'Good Will Hunting?' That is like one of the best movies ever.

The Skulls was a sweet ass movie.

I doubt any of the kids from OC will end up at any real colleges. I bet they all get accepted to their respective colleges, but feel they are better suited to attend the fabricated university, "O.C. State."

"Breaking Away" Indiana U--Bloomington. Film shows the campus and town better than a campus tour video!

"Animal House". Exterior of the house filmed at decrepit former frat house next to University of Oregon. Unfortunately this historical landmark has since been torn down to provide parking for hospital across the street.

For Columbia, don't forget Growing Pains and Saved by the Bell (Carol Seaver and Jessie Spano)--although the campus isn't actually shown.

Films shot on Carnegie Mellon campus:

Most famous---> Wonder Boys (2000, Michael Douglas) and Lorenzo's Oil (1985)

Others (more obscure):

The Mothman Prophecies (2002), Dogma (1999), Hoffa (1992), Creepshow (1982)

Just a quick correction.

The film "A Beautiful Mind" is about John Nash of Princeton, but was actually filmed at Fordham University in New York City. The building featured in the film is actually Keating Hall at their Rose Hills Campus. The same is true for "Love Story" which supposedly takes place at Harvard, but was also filmed at Fordham.

Information on this can be found on the Fordham University website--and on numerous other websites as well.

didnt know why I didnt turn off the TV (the movie was shown on HBO) but well...I saw Oberlin at the end of "Eurotrip "^^

thanx for the info calcruzer. I really didn't know!!!

I'm pretty sure that "City Law School" in Rounders is actually filmed on the Rutgers Campus

I think UCSD's library was used as the spaceship in "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes"

Ah, well, I love Sarah Lawrence and it was shown in The Notebook. Plus Julia Stiles' character wanted to go there in Ten Things I Hate About You.

hmm..i'm disvoering a lota new movies this way....keep em' commin ppl.

In 'The Squid And The Whale' Jeff Daniels' character did a reading at SUNY-Binghamton.

they haven't actually 'shown' either of those schools on 'the oc'
